Week 14:  Screen capture, an excellent way to give feedback using technology

Article: How to use technology to provide feedback

Rate: 5

Something that really caught my attention for this reading is that we can use technology to give feedback  using different tools like screen capture that acts like a video camera, recording the assignment as the marker highlights aspects of the work while making audio comments.
I like the point that teachers can give feedback in a shorter time using screen capture and this can be very personal is how the student is next to the teacher.  This kind of feedback is not based in the traditional way which is only based on text.  The article mention Screen capture tool that is very interesting and complicated at the same time. It´s interesting because the students can see the teacher correcting their mistakes and listen to what the teacher is saying about, but is complicated because if the student want to ask something or clarify any doubt its impossible because just can see, analyze and listen to the teacher comments or corrections.

Something that really liked too was that besides personal feedback, teachers can make feedback for a whole class or a group´s students about the mistakes that all of them are having.
Finally I also learned an effective way to track my student to get progress toward learning goals that will inform the feedback I give them. As teachers we are very lucky in these days having access to tools that make the process easier.
Week 13: Motivate students to be part of a successful project

Article: Maximizing the Benefits of Project Work in Foreign Language Classrooms, and Seven Essentials for Project-Based Learning.

Rate: 3

Something that call my attention for this reading is that an excellent project needs two things from students the first one is that students know the assignment is important and the other is necessary do that in the best way because in some cases as students we don’t take importance to the projects or assignments, we know that everything has a purpose in our life.

Something that I want to remember is the interaction between student-student and teacher- student if I want to get a successful project because sometimes teacher just assign projects and don’t help to students or do not clarify their doubt and this make to student to show or feel unmotivated. That’s the importance for this element of on a project-based learning, this is a key in which we can know how that project helps and how interested are for.

That means that work project   engages students to work in a project that is a challenge for them and makes them feel motivated to increase their knowledge and to have a positive attitude while they are learning English.

To sum up as teacher I need to meet my students in something that can catch their attention in order to achieve the success of a project because student’s opinion is important and they feel motivated.

week 12. Techniques how to make an interactive class

article: 10 Benefits of Getting Students to Participate in Classroom
Discussions

rate: 4

Something That really liked to read was about Think Pair Share technique because we allow to our students to think  individually, there everyone thinks  what they knows about  the proposed topic.learners think silently about it for a few minutes. After thinking and bring ideas to their mind the student can share their ideas with the partner who has closer, without leaving the site they talk about it. And the last of this technique is to share in a group, there they exposed all ideas, while the teacher writes them on the board for all to see it all, and is completing, clarifying, clearing doubts or misunderstandings. definitely this is a technique that benefits teachers and students because the teacher always monitors the work that make their students and something very important that the routine changes and it is interesting also because it has more participation by students who are quiet or timid. With this technique it's not just the teacher who talks and talks but also listens and analyzes what students produce.

Finally I can say that as future teachers is in our hands making a successful class by creating our own environment where all my students have the opportunity to contribute ideas knowing that students need more opportunities to practice their skills (speaking reading listening writing) and make a class interesting as always using technology and get more successful students.

Article: Twenty Ideas for Using Mobile Phones in the Language Classroom

Rate: 4

Something that I would like to continuous reading is about the use of mobiles inside and outside of the classroom that offers diversity way to teach and make a different class. The article mentions several reasons to consider using mobile phones in the classroom and the most important are social tools that facilitate authentic and relevant communication and collaboration among learners.

Nowadays, the mobile can satisfy the need to know with immediacy and continue exploring beyond the learners knowledge. As a teacher I need encourages understand how mobile learning, drink adopt this technology in my daily life. With a little training and time to explore educational applications I can find fascinating way that allows me to support mobile.

Something that catch my attention is that my class will be highly successful connections, as I explain the student researching on the Internet, take pictures of the material, recorded a procedure, space is located temporarily in interactive maps, take notes on tools like social networks and then share and exchange the material peers and among all assemble their conclusions or discussions of the subject to be published in the blog of the classroom or in a shared document. I know that Group collaboration is easy through chat applications such as Twitter or Facebook group.

Finally I can say that mobile is already an essential tool in our lives inside and outside of the classroom, so I do not participant in the teaching and learning process is unthinkable. As teachers, we must appropriate use and learn to take full advantage of it.
