in
ESL students and reading skills. About reading skill, mention the importance to
read and get
benefits of
extensive reading in L2 to improve you vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension and
writing as Laufer and Liu and Nation demonstrated. Now, here
is one websites that are particularly rich in extensive and accessible
children's and young adult literature and which have demonstrated a stable
existenceThese sites
provide a wide range of materials, topics, difficulty levels and sophisticatedIllustrations,
but sometimes is accompanied by oral readings with animations. If the ss don't
have easy access to the Internet, it is possible for teachers with Internet
access to download andprint out
materials for student use. These are some things the teacher can do to make the
reading experience more productive for students and these resources can increase
student practice time with English outside the class. About writing skills here
are some elements that can helpas a teacher to teach their writing through web pages,
emails, and websites class, Here, students have thechance to collaborate make paragraphs
essays and work together with other
classmates, peers, and teachers something that I want to apply carefully in the
future is that teachers should consider and clarify ss goals if is successful the
internet integration. Finally, teacher should think about how to integrate
online activities into the syllabus rather than adding these on top of the
rest of the classroom activities. As a conclusion theInternet
can be used to motivate students in their efforts to acquire English
proficiency skills.
Hello Wendy, let me tell you that I am agree with you in the fact that teachers have to be careful when chosing the materials from internet, since we need to know our students level of the language and their necesities because students can not been presented with a text which contained unknown vocabulary because they will not be able to understand very well and also will create in students frustration. Moreover, one important thing that was presented in the article was, the finger method that its been used when developing a reading lesson and students need to rice their hand and count with the finguers the words that they do not know and if the number of unknown words are more than five the text needs to be changed by an easy one.
